Factors/Multiples

"Factors" are the numbers you multiply to get another number. For instance, the factors of 15 are 3 and 5, because 3×5 = 15

Factors-the multiplication facts that give you the value you are looking for. Every number has 1 and itself as a factor.

     Example 1 :     The factors of 10, are:  1 and 10

                                                                        2 and 5

     The factors of 10 are 1,2,5, and 10

    Example 2 :       Factors of 25 are:    1 and 25

                                                                   5 and 5,   ( but you only use 5 once)

The factors of 25 are 1, 5, 25

Multiplies- you need to multiply the number as many times as the question asks.

    Example-What are the first 4 multiples of 2

                                                                                  2x1=2

                                                                                  2x2=4

                                                                                  2x3=6

                                                                                 2x4=8

The first four multiples of 2 are 2, 4, 6, and 8

What is the first 6 multiples of 6?

                                 6x1=6

                                 6x2=12

                                 6x3=18

                                 6x4=24

                                 6x5=30

                                 6x6=36

so the first 6 multiples of 6 are:  6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 26
